Going on a Retreat

Spent the recent weekend on a spiritual retreat in Kundasang with a cozy group of like-minded people. There's something about the mountain air that makes it easier for one to reflect on life and all the trials & tribulations. I love the mountain.

What do we fear? I said there are a few things: like, fear of giving up on the attachments. Fear of non-existence, fear of surrendering the ego. Why are we running in circles ?

Sis. Sumitra was right...we need to open up our hearts. We are still so attached to our BIG EGO.

We keep so much garbage inside us. We know these are bad and yet we still cling on to them. LET GO...LET GO...LET GO. Non-attachment will liberate us. See the impermanence in all things and in our lives.

If there is no self, then what is there to liberate?

Bhante said I should start the religious practice as soon as possible. Life is unpredictable. Don't leave it too late to do the IMPORTANT things.

The 3 days, 2 nights event was fruitful. For me, I can see how I can put the practice in my work, in my daily life. Loving, caring, sharing for our Earth, our fellow men.

Thank you Sis. Sumitra for knocking some sense into us. Into me.

Sadhu.
